abstract series
below are a series of photo collage experiments. they’re each composed of images taken throughout philadelphia.
inspired by some of the work of martin venesky, the project focuses of everyday things, abstracting them by cropping them in interesting ways, and recombining them to make something new.
all the compositions adhere to the same basic restrictions: the original raw images must be converted to a single color screen, and each image can only be cropped at 90 degree angles, forcing a reliance on the shapes of the original objects. additionally, once a raw image is used, it is removed from the collection and can't be used again.
